Tomorrow is our 11 year anniversary. Today we are going to Boise to spend the night. My little brother is getting married tomorrow in Boise. It will be a great weekend!
My sister Debra puts things about whoever's special day it is on her blog so I'll do that. Maybe I can tell some of you something you don't know about us.
Married: May 24, 1997 in the Jordan River Temple in Utah
Met: In Hemmet California in the summer of 1996, we were serving as missionaries and he was my zone leader.
Courtship: A mutual friend from the mission was talking to me one day several months after we'd been home and she told me I needed to call him because she was sure we were meant for each other. She made me promise her I would call him. I put it off for a while and then one day I got up the guts to call him. I had to track him down and found out he was actually back in California. He just happened to be coming up to Utah (where I was living) to start a 2 week road trip with a friend. Alex had gotten off his mission in December and it was March when I called him. We saw each other for 3 days-with his friend there the whole time. After those three days he was getting ready to leave. I took a very uncharacteristic bold chance and told him I loved him and I wanted to marry him. I look back now and can't even believe I said that! I think I was sure I would never see him again if I didn't say something. We then had a LONG talk we decided to get married. His parents thought we were out of our minds and mine said that is so Deanna.
Engagement: was less than 8 weeks
Children: Olivia was born 14 months after we were married, Jared was born 16 months later, Luke was born 13 months later and Caleb a whopping 18 months after that. Olivia was still 3 when Caleb was born.
Where we've lived: Lived for 1 year in Orem, Utah. Then lived for 1 year in Provo, Utah. Then on to Lewisburg, Pennsylvania for two years. (I refer to this is as our graduate school time period-because that's where he learned how to do what he does for a living-and because we learned to "grow up" a little anyway). Then onto Idaho where we've lived ever since.
Favorite thing to do together: Anything really, just be together. Camping. Traveling. Hanging out with our funny kids.
I typical date: Go to Johnny Carinos and then go to the library and/or the grocery store.
Favorite books that we both really like are: Pride and Prejudice, House of the Scorpion, Rich Dad Poor Dad, Richest Man in Babylon, As a Man Thinketh, A Thomas Jefferson Education, Eragon, The Chosen, The Giver, Clive Cussler books and Little Brittches to name a few.
Favorite movies: Pride and Prejudice, Lord of the Rings, Narnia movies, Sahara, and Return to Me. I know I'm forgotten a lot!
Favorite Date: 10th Anniversary cruise to Mexico and Belize last year.
I'm happy to say we are still madly in love and are the very best of friends. Being married is the best thing to ever happen to me.
That's enough babbling for now...

Happy Anniversary!
I guess our courting stories and lengths are about even, but we're falling way behind on the kids thing ... WOW.
I love seeing people happy after a decade ... wow- does that make you feel old? :)
Congratulations you guys!
I like the post, hope you have a good weekend, your kids were cute at the softball game. We missed you guys though!
I want you to know that I learned something new about you today....I did NOT know that you were married in the Jordan River temple. Well, happy 11th anniversary. If I were a better friend I would have gotten you something.....but I hope you had fun in Boise.
That picture of you and Alex is really cute!
