We've been looking at this land for several years. It sits right against the church and right on the edge of town. We consider ourselves city folk, you know. We've tried to get them to take out the front 10 acres, but they've wanted to sell it as a unit. So, in the end we finally just decided to buy the whole thing. We will lease it out for now.... There is a slough (like a river) running through it. There are some very pretty parts. I haven't taken any pictures of that yet though.
The front 10 acres, now that's what we are excited about. There are 7 buildings still standing- old barns, garden houses,.... There are also 3 lean-to's for horses, lots of corrals, lots and lots of trees (which is why we wanted it-mature trees on land for sale is very hard to come by), a silo with a large fall-out structure underneath.... Oh, and a tree house. Lots of fun for our kids right now.
The plan is to build a house in the front in another couple of years.
The tree house... (paint job coming up soon)

Olivia poking her head out of her "tack room" for her horses.

Silo, with the land in the distance, the large cement structure underneath. Perfect as a cellar. The cement structure use to be a well many, many years ago.
One of the many trees. Tackling the weeds is our first order of business.
A nest we found. When we came back the wind had knocked the branch down. No baby birds this year for us.
A HUGE black widow in the silo. I had know idea those things were that big. There's also a resident bat there at the silo.
Some of the corrals off to the right. We've put our fire pit to the left by the tree. You can make out our stump-chairs in the distance if you're looking. We've several camp fires already.
Lots of ditches for swimming and cooling off. The water is only 1 1/2 feet deep. The kids were sitting in it. The church is in the background.

I'm so excited for you guys. Now you can be like Grandma Ward was and look out your window and say "what is going on at the church?"
Congratulations, that is so exciting! You'll have to give us a tour next time we come home.
That is cool, I am just happy that the 80 acres is in Richfield, not some other town/state/country!!!! I love all the big plans! sounds like a lot of fun work! Congrats!
Wow! How exciting is that! Are you going to grow crops, house lots of horses and cows, or just look at the beauty of all that land?
