Our latest Republican Rally was over the weekend. It was a high end event. To get into the VIP reception it was $500 a ticket. It was up at Ketchum at the Red River Lodge I think it was called. It was a very fancy place. There were several hundred people there. Luckily we were given free admission since were are candidates. It was an event to raise money for Alex and the Senator canadate.
Alex and the man running for our district Senate (Jim Donavall) seat were the speakers as far as canidates went. He of course did a great job. Everyone comments on what an excellent speaker he is. Jim asked if he had any public speaking experience because he said Alex does such a good job. (Yeah, it's called speaking in sacrament meeting. : ) )
Other speakers were Michael Steele, the National Chairman for the Republican party. He's a Washington, DC big wig. We're big buds now. haha There was a comedian that travels the US at Republican Fundraising events. Also a National talk radio host that has been on the airwaves for 25 years spoke. I can't remember his name. Also one of Idaho's US Senators spoke.
It's crazy to be introduced (me not just Alex) at events of over 300 people and I'm suppose to stand up and wave. Yikes! People are always saying, "hi Deanna it's so good to see you here tonight." I can't remember half of everyone's names! I have people hugging me all the time.
At this event everyone wanted to know where Olivia was. They'd tell their friends, "You should hear their daughter sing. She's got the best voice I've ever heard. You need to get you on those talent shows on TV." I think Olivia is just as popular as Alex is.
Campaign life is so fun. I think.
